Life Habits

Is your spiritual life an up and down experience?

Do you long for an abiding sense of God’s love and approval?

Is your prayer life more hit and miss than you would like?

We all long for the abundant life that Jesus speaks of in John 10:10 when He says “I came that you might have life, and have it abundantly.”  The expression really means the kind of life that is super, over the top, abundant, in a spiritual sense.  Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, self-control and the other fruits of the Holy Spirit are all ours to abide in each day.  By adopting new life habits, the spiritual disciplines of the Bible, you can experience His love, receive His grace and be empowered to represent Him in all the places you go.

While true spiritual transformation is God’s work, in practicing the disciplines you can cooperate with Him by creating the environment where the Holy Spirit has access to your heart and mind.  God’s truth in the hands of the Holy Spirit changes us inwardly resulting in new thoughts, beliefs, attitudes and finally behavior that lead us into the abundant life and reflects our relationship with Jesus the King.

Pastor Bruce leads this twice-monthly group coaching experience.  In each 90 minutes session, you will consider practical ways to incorporate the historic Christian disciplines identified by Richard Foster in his book, Celebration of Discipline.  These 12 life habits are as follows:

Inward- Meditation, Prayer, Fasting, and Study

Outward- Simplicity, Solitude, Submission, and Service

Corporate- Confession, Worship, Guidance, and Celebration

While mastering these life habits is the journey of a lifetime, you can see immediate results as you begin to incorporate them into your walk with Jesus.
